Personal philosophy of education & teaching
The purpose of education, in my opinion,
is to provide students with an emotionally and physically safe learning
environment. The curriculum taught needs to be relevant, challenging,
integrative, and exploratory in order to capture the attention of each student.
My role and challenge as an educator will be to create a classroom that integrates all the elements of a successful curriculum and reflects such through instruction. In order to foster learning, it is imperative to reach all students by appealing to individual learning styles. Differentiation of instruction is a beneficial approach to achieve the particular task. I believe setting and meeting the standards while keeping expectations high will help students to achieve and learn more. Utilizing appropriate teaching techniques will ensure that no one is left behind or not challenged enough. Furthermore, I will display care and do my best to get to know each student to insure that all feel welcomed and a part of the classroom family.
Among all other important aspects of teaching is the parent involvement, which plays a very big role in student’s success at school. I will strongly encourage parents to be involved in their child’s academic life by making positive phone calls, sending emails, and displaying interest in the student's life after school hours.
As an educator, I will have a unique opportunity to touch young lives in a positive way and my commitment to every student’s success will lead to student-centered decisions that will result in high achievements.
