NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND (NCLB) - is an Act that was passed by the United States House of Representatives in 2001 as an effort to provide better opportunity for all students. Public schools that receive Federal funding must meet the standards and the AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress). In addition the Act requires for the states to provide highly qualified teacher. GEORGIA CHARTER SCHOOLS, Amendment 1 (2012)- An amendment that appeared on the Ballot for all Georgia voters to determine whether to give the state the right to initiate charter schools. According to the results of the elections and based on the majority of the votes on November 6, 2012, the state has been given the right to do so.
